Ack!
Just noticed that I had a response to a submission in my SPAMBOX! It was a rejection with an encouraging note; I'm fine with that. Now I'm afraid of what I might have MISSED from pubs whose responses were long overdue. And you can't recover stuff that was auto-deleted from google's spam box. Uggggggggh, what if I had acceptances?! This is the only time you'll find me hoping the responses were rejections.

I check my spam folder all the time. Mostly I find spam. Sometimes I find messages from listservs I belong to or blogspot comments. I think it's unusual to find one from a publisher.
