hobos are one of literature's most interesting stock character. Interesting stock character? Is there such a thing? Yes, my friends, and "hobo" is his name.
This brought up a whole different image for me--as in girl who is acting like a ho. Lol, maybe I've been editing my YA too long if this is the image that first pops into my head.
Lauren - Yep, from Kerouac to cartoons to pop art, it's a veritable hobopolis!
Travis - Robohobo? I can see it now, so clearly in my head: Robohobo - The Later Years of Robocop
Groupie - Oh dear. If you're tired of YA, you can always try writing hoboerotica.
Wally - Thank you. I'll try another.
"Due to a slight misspelling on the order form, Captain Zip, the only man standing between the Earth and annihilation, received a suit of Hobotic Armor, just in time for the alien invasion."
"The Tarantula is rather hobotic in the sense that it stows away in cargo containers to be shipped across both land and sea."
"He had a hobotic air about him, making people both resent him for his odor, and envy his apparent freedom."
'Course, it can always be an adverb too, if you want to go down that road. I'll do my best to refrain from throwing in sentences using the term "hobotically."
I've got three college degrees, which really isn't as impressive as it sounds. I am actively using none of them.
I work as an Emergency Medical Technician, where I drive really fast, going WEEOOOWEEOOWEEOO all the time. This is fun, but really, I just want to write.
Writing has been a valuable tool, lesson, teacher, and pastime, and I hope that blogging here will help me take it to the next level. It is my goal with this blog to engage in dialogue with other writers, published and unpublished, in order to support and learn from each other.
What you can find here are posts about my writing process, quotes from and thoughts on what I am currently reading, and various bits of my life that I feel are interesting enough to share.
Since I am currently focusing on work and my own projects, I will only be posting here rarely, and not reading nearly enough of other blogs as I'd like. Hopefully, work will mellow out soon and I can get back on the wagon!
